Today it is so easy to be an anti-vaxer; because since the majority of people are vaccinated, one doesn't see the consequences anymore. It would be different if your neighbour's kid was sterile due to mumps, the child down the street has a permanent disability due to polio or the other child died of diphtheria. I believe that if they made a HIV vaccine, you would find many of the so called anti-vaxers would be lined up for the shot.

Hi Autumn. I am sure that you mean well and yes tourists do get treated better in Africa. But make no mistake at all, white privilege is 100% real and if you don't think so, you are part of the problem. I spent a year in Africa, and I saw it almost every minute of every day. It happens all around the world whether you believe in it or not. I never really thought about it until it saved my life. Make no mistake, I was getting lifesaving care in a private room with a private nurse while a hundred black people were laying screaming and dying in the halls. If I would have been a black tourist, I may have received extra care, but I would not have had a private room with a private nurse and the best doctor. That little bit of extra care saved my life. I also traveled with black Americans in Africa and all over the world. I almost always got better treatment. It might have been noticeable to most white people but that doesn't mean it isn't real. Please open your eyes.
