We just don't eat as much processed food. One, it's expensive and two, our corner supermarkets have like 2 freezers of nuggets, sausages and burger patties. That's about it. Compared to what I saw in the UK: frozen pizzas, family pack crisps, ...the list goes on. Fresh veggies are also dirt cheap here, plus, close knit family units and single income households makes it so there's someone to cook at home. People who go to the west from here here inflate like a balloon within months. Just how it's all structured.
Yes and no. More culturally friendly and hospitable but also slightly unhinged. A lot of people here have undiagnosed mental health issues due to stigma, low awareness and lack of resources. These issues are exacerbated due to economic hardship and leak out in ways such as higher road rage,street crime ,domestic violence etc
