Marcus spent many years in the Philippines working with professional boxers. While there he was exposed to the world of cockfighting and did not find it enjoyable. He came up with the idea for Chicken Boxers as a satirical look at boxing and cockfighting and how they are similar in many ways as a form of entertainment and sport for many globally.
