Inspired by the artwork of M. C. Escher, I create tessellating patterns which I turn into digital compositions. Formerly a vacuum cleaner designer, I found similarities in mechanism design and the geometric principles used in tessellation. Inspired by the aesthetic beauty of this geometry, I left my job and created Tessellation Art, a home for all of my tessellating artwork, design and development.

Thanks Hannah! Well I originally designed the skull pattern for a fabric competition. In my artwork, I've started to manipulate simple patterns into compositions. So, I used this skull pattern to create the Skull Artwork Series. M. C. Escher, a big influence on my work, also used skulls in his work, so it really fitted together well for me :) You can check out the finished artwork here if you're interested! http://shop.tessellationart.com/t/--skull

Amazing. I love the idea of the eye in the eye of the skull. What inspired you to select skulls, specifically?
