Yes, what is it with that? Also, far too many people think you can't say no to a parent or grandparent or someone old. If they're being rude or inconsiderate to my medical needs I'll be polite but firm. People using age or some kind of status to have control over others in some way can sod off.

Children in this situation need to be reassured that eating differently doesn't matter - they'll have to learn it at some point. Yes, accommodation is a great thing to do where reasonable but spending three times their budget is not. Stop with trying to make everyone fit around one person and instead work on making that one person feel good about themselves despite needing different food.

It is maybe just me, but I’d be willing to spend the rest of the day in their company pretending to be discreet about wheesing, sneezing and ear-scratching. Leaving the room while having a coughing fit to not disturb the others. Maybe I have read too many of these posts now, and am fed up by people not accepting other peoples allergies

No - I may question the sensibilities of someone who doesn't like garlic and spicy peppers but that doesn't mean they harm their children.
