The best way to deal with a miscarriage was getting lied to that it was a fake pregnancy by my sis, who's a doc and immediately getting pregnant again 3 weeks later. I know ppl who weren't over a miscarriage 10 years later. Sounds like she was forced to abort. That's way worse. With another miscarriage I felt guilty and thought that I killed him, because I biked. We once tried to help a woman online. Her bf kicked her in the belly, because he wanted the kid dead and she saw no other way but to have an abortion. I've been to Iran during the weeks following Ashura and saw multiple gatherings like this, some people were even self-flagellating. It sounds really weird and violent but you would have to be there to understand. It really is a deeply spiritual, emotional experience and I felt really moved just watching. Full disclosure, I might feel closer to rituals like this because I'm catholic and our rituals are quite "corporeal" too. Also yes, there are people who hijack the ceremony and seriously self-harm with blades or even firearms during it to show off how tough they are to their peers and fellow gang members. Muslims who take the rituals seriously really hate them. And I think it's illegal too.

Bull and s**t. It doesn't matter which damn school you're in - nobody's stopping you from praying, or reading the bible during free time, or even starting a religious themed club for other students. Staff members not being allowed to push religion on students in public schools is nowhere close to "god not being allowed". And since when did the all powerful creator of the universe need permission to be somewhere? And why do people still get shot and killed in churches anyway? This entire sentiment is nothing but bitter evangelical whining.

When my parents got us Minetest some 10 years ago, all of us kids tried it out. My sister (8 or 9) built a whole house out of a nice yellow cube she found in the Creative mode, including fireplace, and then she started a fire in the fireplace. The yellow cube was Wool. The whole house burned to the ground while my sister scream-cried and begged my parents to do something (they didn't play themselves so they had no idea what's going on). I think the poor thing is actually traumatized for her whole life, because she still dislikes videogames.

Doing something because you are forced to (such as covering your hair,) not because your WANT to and have the INTENTION to actually nullifies the act. You're making your society superficially _look_ religious, but you might be (probably are) creating citizens who lack respect for you and the religion you are trying to enforce.
