My son has a landscaping business and does jobs for all income levels. If a middle class or lower income person feels like the estimate is too much they will do it in stages or just not hire him. Upper class people will agree to a price then complain about the price, pay VERY late or try to bargain down the price they already agreed on. It’s bizarre.

Reading these comments reminds me of the time I got the bus home after a huge night of drinking.
As soon as I got on the bus I realised it was peak hour. There was people in business attire sitting next to me, while I smelt of boxed wine in the clothes I wore yesterday
I sat there eating yoghurt with my fingers and it was only when I saw someone's reaction, that it dawned on me,
I was the weirdest thing they saw that day.

My favorite “boy mom” was my MIL. She raised my husband and his brother with boundaries, they know how to sew, cook and all about the menstrual cycle. She knew they might have women in their lives one day and needed to be prepared to support. They’re sensitive and not afraid to show emotion. She only let them sit to pee in her house so no cleaning up dribbles or falling in the toliet.
After I had my first child she pulled me aside and made sure he was doing his part. Told me to let her know if he wasn’t and she’d talk to him. I miss that wonderful woman so much.

She wanted to be girly every once in a while. She’s a tomboy who works as a plumber. First decade we were together, we did stuff we both like: off-roading, camping, fishing, etc. We went to a big city on a vacation and next to the hotel there was a dress shop and she kept wistfully staring at a particular dress. In the 15-20 years we had been together I had never seen her wear a dress.
I talked to her and she admitted she’d never done anything girly. I bought that dress and she got her hair and makeup done at the little hotel boutique. We went to the Opera and then out for a nice romantic dinner. She was so beautiful, y’all, and so happy. We’re almost 60 now. I always plan something girly where she can be Belle of the ball (her female friends are more masculine than I am).

I have this thing when I will casually mention something or someone I haven't seen in years, and then like the next day something related do that will happen, or that person will show up at a random place I'll happen to be.
This happens a lot.

When I was in my late teens, a long time ago, except I didn't really learn. My dad's job involved entertaining government officials. My dad often took me to fairly boring official functions, and sometimes there were groups of teens around. So when some politician showed up with a girl around my age, I thought she was his daughter. I took her elbow and said "let's leave the old farts to their work dinner, the fun kiddy table is over there!" Turns out she was his girlfriend. My had turned pale and hissed at me, but later that night, he said he actually wanted to applaud me. He gave me some extra spending money and said there was more where that came from if I kept blurting out that kind of thing, as long as I looked completely innocent about it.

Number 1 red flag is someone who doesn’t ask questions. They just talk about themselves.
A date is literally an opportunity for you to get to know the other person. Not asking questions is an indicator that they are more interested in you knowing THEM than them getting to know you. Run away lol.

Those favela tours. So many other things you can do here to “get inspired” and “see how the locals really live” other than riding past us and looking at us like we’re a zoo exhibit.
