Here Are 50 Of The Dumbest Things Ever Said On The Internet

The National Geographic–Roper 2002 Global Geographic Literacy Survey of 18-24yo (voting age) found these US people: Have lowest geographic literacy. Half didn’t know the difference between “geography” and “geology” 1/3 believe the US population is between 1 and 2 billion. 25% did not select “50” as number of states with double that not knowing what the stars on the flag represent. 98% don’t know there is a flag code & it shouldn’t be worn & has guidelines about displaying. 11% couldn’t locate the US on a map or globe. 12% could name US territories, 85% didn’t know Puerto Rico is one, yet the same amount thought Hawaii was. Most US public schools do not include geography so don’t test for it, giving the impression it’s not valuable. *The same goes for civics & government* I won’t spew stats on that, but less than 2/3 of eligible US voters can define the 3 branches of government nor can they explain “separation of powers” and 1/2 didn’t know there were 3 branches.

I was a health care provider working through the entire first wave of covid for year and a half now taking a sabbatical leave because of severe physical and emotional burnt out. These people and majority of the population DO NOT understand nor have seen the reality of what this virus has done to our society and our people. People are all focusing on the byproduct/side effects of what this virus has done to us, ie. where is my stimulus check? ban vaccine and mask mandate, blah blah blah instead of focusing on how to cure THE ROOT of their riot which is THE VIRUS!!! Read these posts closer, many of them were arguing for argue sake without any genuine concerns. STOP THE NONSENSE if we want this virus to go away. It is the only way because apparently trying to explain why masks and vaccine are necessary is the waste of time.

This is actually very concerning... 1. As a therapist, it is horrific to see people's opinion on depression, anxiety and personality issues so lightly (getting these "facts" from god knows where...) and believe that all these are real. It will be like someone who got sick, looked up all kinds of nonsense, went to the doctor's office and argue with the doctor about their issues. I personally had encountered patients whom I had to spend sessions correcting these misconceptions before working on the real issues. 2. These kids are YOUNG! Is that how young people nowadays get validation, affirmation and self-esteem boost by making videos, in reality, that made them look even more foolish, uneducated, and untrustworthy??? Bottom line is, for instant, a research while studying psychology in school, takes any where between two to six years to finish depending on the level of study. Two to six minutes on a video hardly makes anyone look legit to talk about psychology.

I have a feeling even if you ask them not to come, they will show up at the door and cause a scene. The wife, also pregnant, doesn't need this kind of stress as this situation is totally bad for her, her husband and her unborn child.
