Odds are the man negotiated better pay and that the woman simply didn't do the same. That's happened before with me and a female coworker before. We started the job at roughly the same time and had roughly the same qualifications and started at the same salary. When yearly raises came up, I put my foot down and demanded the company give me better raises. She didn't. Also, the fact that OP got the $10,000 raise proves that you just gotta ask for it. Companies are greedy and don't just give out money.

In other words, men like to throw fits if they don't get the pay they think they deserve. Studies have shown women are less likely to behave like that in the work place. You are incorrect. Many of the dogs that you see at shows enjoy it, and you can tell by the way they carry themselves. Unhappy or scared dogs do not present well in the ring, and no amount of coercing can make them fake it. If a dog doesn't like it, they will most certainly let you know. As for this ridiculous idea that all purebred dogs are inbred or have problems, it's just more AR propaganda. Responsible and reputable breeders (especially ones that are showing and titling their dogs) invest THOUSANDS into health testing, carefully research pedigrees, and do their due diligence into preserving the breed and it's standard. Yes, there are s****y BYB people out there, but they do not represent everyone. The purpose of showing, beyond showcasing what a kennel produces, is to have fun for both the handler AND the dog. My suggestion is that instead of just assuming that you actually go to a show, speak to the handlers, meet the dogs, and learn it first-hand.
