Parents Can't Stop Talking About Their New Friend, Son Doesn't Understand: "Freaky How Obsessed They've Become"

JFC what a load of fearful suspicion mongers! Sure, it’s worth doing a background check if he’s that concerned. But here’s my take. I was “adopted” by my then roommate’s parents. Got invited to ALL the family events; any hint of reticence I spoke about not being an actual family member, was shot down by EVERYONE. Their actual kids, cousins, grandkids… they insisted that I belonged there because I had been asked to be there. Spent Christmas and summer weeks vacationing en-famille at their rustic home. When my dad came over to Canada, they insisted that we both spend some time with them at their home. I wasn’t necessarily treated like a daughter but definitely a loved family member. For the first time in my life, a family modeled what a healthy family looks like, and welcomed me to participate. It’s always sensible to be aware of potential malice but open yourselves to the possibility that there is none. The thing about love, is the more you give and receive, the more you have.

If he’s in the uk, you don’t get paid for adoption ,however there is such a thing as kin ship guardianship ,this you will get help financially with, but won’t if the sibling etc is adopted , but you will get child benefit all parents get it ,(unless you earn over 50k ) and depending on how much you earn , you can also get extra help with money via universal credit , I do hope they are doing ok now .

Scary Statistics: 65 Times Learning The Truth About The World Horrified People

Sending hugs. I was one of the “lucky” ones. It only took 2 years of me literally forcing my Dr and nurses to perform regular ultrasounds every couple of months. First it was misdiagnosed as a duodenal cyst, don’t worry, your body will reabsorb it. Then it was re-misdiagnosed as an hemorrhagic cyst, we’ll refer you to a gynaecologist if it gets large enough to risk ovary torsion. The absolute worst part of the experience was being told by a WOMAN DR that all periods hurt! I told her in very small words, I didn’t care about her experience or medical degrees, I had lived in my own body for 40 years. Passing out and vomiting from period pain is not normal. Crawling on my hands and knees back to bed because I can’t stand due to pain, is NOT normal. I gave her 2 choices: investigate what is happening or I’m getting a second opinion. Once the second opinion proves that you have wilfully ignored what I’m telling you and refused treatment based on your personal experience instead of medical facts, I will file a formal complaint against you.

I rarely understand why people get an ick over perfectly normal body functions. Totally with you that breast feeding shouldn’t have been an issue. I don’t understand why some people have severe phobias towards rats or snakes. All I need to understand is people feel how they feel and if I can accommodate their feelings I’m going to do it, simply because there are things I’m irrational about. Spiders! I’ve NEVER been hurt by a spider. But there’s something about the way they move that churns my gut. What really annoys me is all the people spouting “common knowledge” that spiders are more afraid of me than I am of them. 100% guaranteed, if I spot a spider in the room, it is going to approach me. I spent 3 summer months working in a McDonald’s when I was a student, about 30 years ago. The story has been around for decades because it happens. Maybe not daily but definitely once or twice a week at a busy location. Most people accepted the explanation they are getting the exact same meal as if I put in each item individually, but for slightly less money. Some, however, would argue that they “don’t want a fountain drink” they wanted coffee (not sure why, the McD’s coffee was awful back then), “Great! I’ll just switch the fountain drink for coffee. What size would you like?” Or they wanted a milkshake. “No problem! I can switch for a medium milkshake, what flavour would you prefer?” The tough convos involved people who were convinced the portions were different in a combo, either smaller because cheaper or larger because… I have no clue. I’d make one attempt to explain, then key in the items individually as instructed. And, yes, some of those people grumbled about the higher price.

Oh lort PLEASE don't "stay together for the kids". Signed, an adult who endured an incredibly ábusive childhood because my dad wouldn't leave my enormously ábusive mother because it would "break up the family". My mom physically, mentally, and verbally ábused both my father and I for 18 years - and after my dad's accident when I was 18, I was her only focus and her only victim. My mom was the ábusive parent in my case, but regardless of which parent it is, please - the kids will not "benefit" from having both parents remain in a dysfunctional, ábusive marriage.

What a lot of awful humans in the comments ffs one even saying she should have known she was in labour erm tell me you don’t have kids without telling me !! With a first baby we do not know ffs n if a friend asked me to take them to hospital in this instance n baby said I ain’t waiting as they tend to lol, would I be upset and acting like ops ex mate is HELL NO ,I’d be helping in any way I could , n yes I’d get the car cleaned for them to, my son owns a car detailing business , which he runs while training to be a qualified mechanic, ,he would sort it for the, but then Im a decent person unlike Alice n her husband , when babies are coming there is sod all you can do about it, I narrowly missed having my son second baby in our car ,the midwife came to our house n said no time for an ambulance ( ex wouldn’t take me till the football had ended ffs ) 45 mins start to having him , less than 15 mins after getting to the hospital, sometimes waiting for an ambulance isn’t enough!! As someone who was born in the family car on the side of the highway, you absolutely can replace the seat and carpeting and be fine and my parents did that in the 90s when detailing wasn't as advanced and cool as it is now. Will it be expensive? Yes. Traumatic to witness? According to my siblings who were also in the car during my birth, yes. But to completely block and ignore your friend instead of letting them make amends is crazy and weird.

Let me explain a first baby to you !! mothers do NOT know the back ache is labour starting, and by time you realize it it’s to late to wait for an ambulance, my first was induced so I didn’t know the signs when I had my second ,if I’d have waited for an ambulance to get to us I’d have had him at home !! where as with my husband then driving me I made it JUST to hospital 15 miles away, oh n decent people of which your not one of ,wouldn’t mind what so ever !! babies do not follow the rules on arriving 🙄🙄

Grandparents’ “Help” With Their 12-Year-Old Grandson Makes His Dad Sick, They Face The Consequences

My parents took the stance that EVERY authority figure I interacted with was right and I was wrong. I’ve since received apologies from a few, like the math teacher who beat me up in a drunken rage, but mostly, I learned that “authorities” are always right. That suuure didn’t go well for me, as you can guess, but the one that did the *most* long-term damage was when I was injured playing field hockey in PE. The three adults there were “Nope! Didn’t see a thing, so didn’t happen!” so I was dragged home with my [as yet undiagnosed] concussion. Saturday, the next day, my dad came to see why I hadn’t come out of my room and found me in sunglasses holding pillows over my head and took me to the doctor. It’d be fourteen years before my cluster headaches were diagnosed. I was so, *so*, SO lucky I didn’t become an opiate a****t because of that (on top of my migraines)! I so wish this dad had been my dad. I’m confident he’ll get the damage the grandparents have done fixed!

However, when youngest’s kid needed a transplant, our dad got tested for a match: 100% certainty, he’s sister’s bio-dad. Genetic inheritance is not simple nor invariably obvious.
