Unfortunately this is the reality we have to face nowadays. Many villages around the country are slowly dissapearing, cause younger people are moving to cities where there are more opportunaties for them, while the old willingly prefer to stay behind. She`s very lucky she has some family and kind neighbours who can help her if needed, cause many elderly people who live in remote villages have to fully rely on themselves.

Reminds me a little of my late grandmother <3 She lived alone too. The interior of the house and the determination, the spirit were similar. She kept animals (pigs, chickens,...) and farmed her own fruit and vegetables. She didn't watch TV, didn't want to and she had often guests although no one lived really near her (in the countryside after war many of the houses around hers either weren't renovated and were left torn or the owners only occasionally visited during summer and never fully moved back). She was very self sufficient and refused to move out again (after moving back after war) even years after her husband died and as her health problems got worse and her daughter begged her to move to her (where healthcare is better and help closer and quicker) and was ready to organize the move and everything else; it was her home and she stayed until the end (well, until she ended up in hospital where she died but she didn't suffer too long in the hospital). I still miss her

I can't even handle all that work at 14, and she can do it at 70? How?? What a wonderful, self-sufficient woman. Kudos to her.

About the stove. The stove made of a brick. Stove is to big. there is a place where it is possible to sleep 2 persons on the stove. The stove is heated once a day. It will be warm in the house all day even in a frost is hard.
