Problem is, if you shake the food bowl/treats or something, they will begin to associate the bad behaviour with being rewarded with food, so whilst it may stop them in that moment, it may end up causing more bad behavior in the long run. It may depend on the cat though, as not all cats are the same of course. :) My cats rarely misbehave now , compared to how much they used to. I'm lucky though, my newest cat is a Sphynx who is the most well behaved and cuddliest cat I've ever known haha :)
