If it were me, I’d ask the FWB to meet for a drink, and then I’d tell him “She told me everything; now I wanna hear your side,” in an attempt to get him to spill. The possibility exists that FWB is gay so there’s been no secksy shenanigans; FWB could also be asexual, transgender, or other things that take the “benefits” off the table. in other words, rather than listening to his wife’s (likely) lies, get it straight from the horse’s mouth. Once he’s done that, then he can decide whether to throw a g*****e into his marriage and make his kids suffer, or he can rethink what he wants to do (and ultimately divorce; leave it on the table, obviously). I really hope the DNA tests confirm the kids are his, no matter what happens with his wife.

That’s what stuck out for me, that she had a decade and a half to try to form a relationship with her kid, but she apparently couldn’t be bothered. I’m unsure whether she’d even be glad to see him at the party. And who wants to go to a party where they’re not wanted? Only a true аsshole would attend. If she ever makes a genuine effort to get to know OP and apologize for everything she put him through, then perhaps they can be friends, but without that? I suggest she content herself with spending her husband’s money and leave OP the heck alone.

15 years sober is plenty of time to try to make things right. Idk if the grandparents would have blocked this, but after even 3-5 years sobriety an effort should have been made. That way she has some time behind her if sobriety to show them she is serious about getting back in her kid’s life. It's not OP's "fault" that she disclosed that she is autistic. It's not something to have "fault" over. You're making it sound like she made a mistake and should feel ashamed and guilty. She did not make a mistake. Autism is a spectrum, but one of the common signs is that we are often unable to assess social situations clearly or determine how to react socially to other people. We often have issues and difficulties with communication. OP likely told her co-worker that she is autistic because she is used to having to explain why she doesn't "get it". That doesn't make any of it her "fault".

NTA, It’s a “shared” office, meaning it’s my office too even if only temporarily. Sign be d****d, it’s MY office too, so I’m gonna knock and then just walk in and grab my s**t. Mine is really specific. When I was 16, I got delayed for a flight. A man (a local teacher) was chatting me up. Again I was 16 and thought it was friendly.

When he got up to get a drink for himself, this black woman who had been knitting quietly across from me moved and sat next to me. She did not leave my side. When he came back with TWO drinks, and asked for his seat back, she looked him in the eye and said “for today, this is MY child”.

I don’t know her name but I’m grateful for her.
