Then again, it's the customers who are to blame when it comes down to it for not doing their due diligence. Reading through the comments on this post just proves one thing - people don't understand and aren't even trying. We're so very, very far from ending racism. Ivana, I agree with everything you've written. People aren't bothering to stop and think about why these issues exist. Or that these issues will just as easily be caused by different groups of people in areas with different demographics. Poverty causes theft. Lack of opportunity causes poverty and so on it goes. By choosing to deny that these factors are real these people are accepting racism and allowing it to carry on. They, of course, couldn't possibly be racist themselves... oh no. 🙄 I'm not blaming the stores for wanting to stop theft - the problem is much more deep-rooted than that.

Let's agree that these items are high theft items. Notice how they are not TVs or electronics. They are basic necessities. When you have high theft of cheap necessities that are clearly designated for one particular race...doesn't that show you that there is a high degree of racism that they face? May be if they had better schools, were more likely to be hired, or just didn't get arrested for being black they wouldn't have to steal shampoo.

Lemme give you an example. I'm a REAL photographer. Each photo I shoot is roughly $10,000 in gear. Influencers contact me all the time wanting free work. In return they promise to "tag" me so my work can be viewed by their followers. First all, likes don't pay my bills. Secondly, why would I want my work to be seen by more of your broke a*s friends who in turn will contact me for their own free shoot? Finally, click on any photo of any influencer with a million or more followers. You'll never see more than exactly 50,000 likes. Which means not only are the majority of followers fake bots...but so are the likes. You're essentially a turd paying your own money to fuel your ego and trying to p**n your fake celebrity for free vacations, actual photoshoots, and other items. F*ck off. You put this beautifully, I totally agree. I can understand how it might be difficult to watch a character grow up (I don't have any children, but from what I can imagine it's probably like a parent watching their kid grow up), but you have to give them that chance. Arya's grown and had a character arc more dramatic than many other characters in the story. I agree that this episode (and *that* scene) was really humanising and character building for her. She's grown up, gotten hard and stoic and driven by anger, and this episode/that scene shaved some of the hard edges off of her and helped her get closer to her old self without compromising the things she's learned along the way.
