Those long trips are exactly why a diesel would be a better choice. The point about power is also incorrect. A common rail turbo diesel engine is actually capable of producing far more torque than a similarly sized petrol engine. The petrol engine will have more peak power than the diesel as it can produce more rpm but at the same engine speed, a modern diesel engine can be more powerful than a similarly sized petrol engine. As you almost never run a petrol engine at a speed at which it makes peak horsepower and torque, which is typically around 6000 rpm, an RV is better suited to diesel engine which typically produces its maximum horsepower and torque at 1500-2500 rpm which is normal cruising speed.

The Herpes Simplex virus can be transmitted in numerous ways including s****l contact. The virus that causes genital warts is the same virus that causes cold sores. When it manifests as a cold sore it is called type one, when it manifests as genital warts it is called type 2 but it is still the same virus. Just because it can affect the genitals does not not make it a s******y transmitted infection.

Utter rubbish. The petrol engine in my Land Rover uses exactly the same block as the diesel engine and there are several diesel engines with aluminium blocks. Cummins and Detroit are two manufacturers that make aluminium diesels. The torque and power curve of a V8 petrol are not suited to a heavy RV. A diesel would be far more economical and would have a much longer lifespan. It would also make for a more relaxed drive with the engine running at 1800-2200 rpm rather than 3000-4000 rpm. It would be almost impossible to find any factory campervan or motorhome in the UK with a petrol engine.

There are several examples of SUV's and pickups that have to have the body separated from the chassis in order to do even fairly routine engine repairs.

Why shouldn't it still be used? There are still a large number of vehicles on the road that are not compatible with modern OBD readers and equipment and require diagnostic equipment like this.
