I agree with Nate, and downvoting him for stating his opinion is sad. Lots of people also don't have to listen to "when are you getting kids". At least not where I live. Sometimes there are questions about future plans, but that is just to know the future plans, (travel, kids, house, career) not pressuring into having kids. Just wanting to get to know their dreams.

What do you mean by respect in this particular case? Consider your neighbors and live with your kid deep in the forest where nobody can hear you? Hold your kid in the basement where it won't be seen or heard? Ask your neighbors if they are childfree before getting pregnant?

This is the most depressing thread I've read in a long time. I'm 29, have three kids and have never regretted it. I understand if someone doesn't want to have children, but why all this hate on kids and people that raise children, invest in the next generation and just love their sons and daughters? Kids are a responsibility, no doubt. But there's absolutely no reason to be so spiteful, condescending and mean through all these posts and all your comments...
