This is an entirely self inflicted problem. The solution is simple. Tell them to f**k off permanently. Here's the truth, you get the s**t you take. They keep giving you s**t, you quit taking their calls. You teach them through hard experience that they will either get with the program, or there is the door. These folks should have been cut off long ago. I certainly would not want their corrosive influence anywhere near my kids.

When my mom moved to assisted living I would go once a week and spend the day with her. We'd have lunch in the dining room where they had 5 seat tables so we'd always be sitting with others. I got bored listening to talk about daytime television, grandkids, etc. so I started asking about people's lives, especially when they were growing up. I tried to be a bit specific, asking about where they went to school, what chores they did, what was their favorite food growing up. Absolutely fascinating! So many incredible lives lived. Everyone loved sharing and I think everyone loved hearing them share.

I’m really not making light of mental illness; what im trying to do is to lighten the mood a tiny bit in a very depressing situation. It seems Sis is appropriately diagnosed with IED because she comes across as a genuine improvised explosive device, and that’s ODD. Seriously, though, has anyone here ever heard of either diagnosis? This is my first time seeing either one. (And if you suffer from either or both, I intended no harm; I’m just trying to be as cheerful as I can about a miserable situation, and the first two posts I read here when I woke up today were two of the most depressing things I’ve ever read anywhere. I’ve just had a really 💩 day and am feeling as if I got my head caught in a ringer. 😞) (I’ll go to bed now and hope for a better Panda day tomorrow.) (And if you suffer from IED or ODD or both, I also wish you an excellent day tomorrow, too, if it’s possible!)

Scent-Sensitive Lady Wants Coworker To Stop Washing Hands, Is Told Off After Complaining To Boss

I am ridiculously sensitive to smells. The dang things give me all kinds of sinus and headaches. So I have to avoid certain smells, and for some reason those industrial vacuums that seem to do nothing but coat the air in dust. But I have never risen to this level of annoyance. When they clean the bathroom at work with undiluted fabuloso I do have to vacate like they've just released mustard gas. Also bleach. And if someone douses certain kinds of cologne or perfume. It isn't all of them, just a few. But I usually do my best to just make myself scarce. The worst is when I love the smell of a shampoo or body wash, actually buy it and use it, and it gives me a dam headache within the first two hours of work. Since I have to steep in it all day I may have a headache for days. Note I've still not gone this crazy

I was relatively new, so had to point out (afterwards) that I wouldn't even go to such an event (or any other, for that matter) so there wasn't any point asking me to organise anything. We don't all have the time or the inclination. If it's not part of the job spec, it's optional, end of discussion.

I can’t tell you how many times my older cat lays, very gently, across my lower stomach when I’m having THAT time and just purrs up a storm. It legitimately helps and puts me to sleep so easily.

I had a high school teacher I admittedly had a crush on, but he was also young, his first year teaching and I was able to confide in him some of the depression I was going through. He helped me a lot. I reached out to him after graduation to thank him, tell him I’ve grown up and doing mentally better. His response was professional, polite and heart warming but he never accepted my friend request. He wished me a good life and said “it’s always nice to hear from former students”… he never said he “missed my voice”, Jesus, that would have actually made me question everything.
