The art is beautiful, you are very talented. But yeah, it is damn hard to put the image of menstrual blood and the whole grossness of it out of my mind. I am not grossed out by menstruation- it is a nature's curse that we women have to put up with. However, it does not make it any less smelly and therefore, disgusting when it comes around. May be it is better you use normal red paint and say that it represents menstrual blood. That way not everyone will get grossed out. <3

Interesting Idea and beautiful painting. from an artistic stand point it makes a very powerful statement. Personally its not something i really want to look at. Using actual blood over powers the image which should be the focus. I salute your bravery, commitment and you abilities just not you method.

You must be a tampon/pad user. If you've ever done research on menstrual cups, you'd know that blood has very little to no smell at all... It's the chemicals and blood mixing and oxidizing on synthetic fibers that creates the "rancid" smell. Oh, and being proud to be a working woman in a male dominated field doesn't make you proud to be a woman, it makes you proud to be a feminist. There's a difference. ;)

No, no cover in it! nothing at all! after the period dries it has no smell at all, and the strong red color turns into a darker shade and that's all!

oh yes, it was the same situation with my grandmother, when she first saw the painting she was over the moon in a positive way...but when I told her 'Grandma' this is done with period' she wasa bit shocked and started to smell it cause it has no smell at all. Finally she recognized that it's just wow!

thanks for your thoughts but that means you are not proud at all, because the menstrual flow is the main sign of our feminine beign, the sign of our fertility, but what about the reuse of it with such an unique concept? an artwork is also a creature of an artist, so it has a birthday as well, such as a baby! so why sould I throw my period in the trash? I preferred to give an original sense of it! so this is the result, an artistic birth of an artwork! and this can be done olny by a woman! which is a fantastic ad precious think!
