NTA, you're the Dad. You did what any Dad ought to do. I would do the same thing, except I would not have offered to make up any shortfall when she resells the ticket. IMO, that'd be the cost of poor judgment - and it's a LOT cheaper than a lot of other consequences she might have faced had she gone to the festival. Perhaps life changing consequences.

NTA I'm that house by any means. If Panda gave out an award for being "THE A of 2022" he would be asking you to write his acceptance speech. Does he enjoy the funds you get from your advances and sales as well as any and all monies you make as a real-estate Manager? That would end, cause I would be a big old B about it. He would not eat any food that money bought, he would not watch cable that money paid for, he would not enjoy clean clothes from the tide that those funds came from. I'm petty and I'm a B like I said. Show him how much money your "no job" brings in. You know he is just jealous he has to get up n go to work. He obviously hates his career choice. That's on him not you. Secondly but MOST IMPORTANT he is trying to control you. He has known all this time you are a writer and he is trying to make you change your life now. The more he pouts the more he tries to manipulate you it shoes great disrespect. You need to think very hard about what is best for you and your life.

I understand too well. Good for you. First, any responsible mother has that all worked out with the boss before she tries to do the "fetch at lunch" thing because a thousand other moms are doing the same thing. Secondly, if it is that much of an issue I'm sure there is a place for her kids to go that doesn't have to be picked up right then like DAYCARE!!!! Third, like you said high school is over and what people think about me, not my problem, theirs. But most importantly you have a job, a paying job, you work from home but it is work. The 20 bucks is an insult to the use of your time. 20 bucks for 3 kids, she is doing drugs. How dare she insult you this way. Hold your head high, tell her buzz off.

As the mother of a special needs (now adult) and a nerotypical (now adult) let me tell you, your ARE NOT the ahole. My oldest daughter truly resents me for making her the "caregiver" when I wasn't around. She needs to be able to enjoy herself and not worry. She needs to have fun and do things. Checking in with neighbor is fine but being her caregiver, no, don't let it happen.

NTA you areher parent not her friend her parent. We as parents are to protect them, guide them, keep them from hurting themselves, and sometimes discipline them. Be her parent she will thank you some day

NTA: They are being very racist. Her dad could be ginger headed. Her grand parents. If it is a color found in nature it should be allowed. I would contact the local News stations and file a complaint for racism with the county.
