You hardly ever hear about restaurants that won't let you dine if you're not wearing a tie any more.

This reminds me of Yogi Berra describing a restaurant as a place that nobody goes to anymore because it's always too crowded.

My secondary school decided to replace the perfectly sensible picnic tables with attached benches that could seat 6-8 people and that we could eat on and study on with seats designed by an artist. It was bright orange, vaguely t**d shaped and impossible to sit on. The top was full of larger bumps that meant that you could either sit in a tilted position (somehow) or that you had to awkwardly stay perched on top of a bump with your legs dangling down. On top of that, the surface was too smooth, which meant that unless you managed to balance on top of a bump, you'd have to keep your feet firmly planted on the floor to keep yourself from sliding off. And if, somehow, you managed to use it and were wearing the wrong fabric, you'd get up with a nice, big ZAP. They also once hid the trashcans after a visit from some officials and we didn't find them for weeks

I don't get this one. Can anyone help out? Is this just about the different aesthetics between pre-selfie-era and selfie-ear? Or is there a joke in there I'm missing?

Reminds me of a joke from my childhood. "What's the last thing to go through a bug's mind when he hits the windscreen? His a.r.s.e."
