I started creating beach art as a way to practice creativity. A practice in using what I have around me to create a simple subject. It turned into a practice in letting go and art abandonment for others to enjoy before the tide washed it all away. As a mosaic artist in Huntington Beach, CA I have many opportunities to just go to the beach and practice my mosaic in an environment very different from my studio.

There is something about knowing this art is temporary and you need to enjoy it now while it is here. It has also been nothing short of amazing the way people have responded to these simple little works of art in the sand. I was completely surprised to find an article written recently about my mosaic beach art on the site LittleThings.com and thrilled to see people relate so much to what I do.
