This rubbish pisses me off every time. I have a high IQ but don't really know much. They're not linked.

A starfish is an echinodermata, and so an Deuterostomia, which mean it also a Bilateria.
Yeah the larvae show bilateral symmetry (why they are a Bilateria) and then once they become adults they developed radial symmetry. Similar thing happens with sea urchins.
