I worked room service.
I was taking some wine to a guest and went to the elevator. As the door opens there's this older (at the time) gentleman huddled on the floor in the corner wearing what seemed to be a nice suit.
I asked him if he was okay, if I should call someone.
He just says matter of factly "I lost a million dollars".
I didn't know what to say and had the most uncomfortable elevator ride of my life.
