This might seem tame, but I went to a wedding where the ceremony took place at like 1:30, and the reception wasn’t until way later in the evening. The ceremony took place at a church and was only 45 minutes, maybe an hour. Then the bridal party left for pictures. Then there was a small gathering with some food for the bridal party at someone’s house, but it was only open to members of the bride’s family. That meant the rest of the guests had nothing to do and nothing to eat for hours. The reception hall wasn’t open and the town where the wedding was didn’t have a lot to do. It’s wild to me because it’s just so….rude. Like they made a speech at the wedding thanking everybody for coming and how people came from far away for their wedding, yet they couldn’t be bothered to even put out food or open their home to other guests.
