What I also don't get about the art-AI bros: the great thing about art is not "having a finished piece". If I want just that, I can buy one. It's the process, the figuring out, the joy of seeing my own skill creating something and getting better at my art. The process, not the outcome. What is the joy in the process of telling an AI what to do?

A whopping 73% of Gen Z members say they have seen misleading AI content, which is the highest percentage of any generation polled.

Just yesterday in my job, they introduced a new ai application that is supposed to check invoices, if they meet certain criteria etc. In reality, you just upload them to the app and you need to check them manually, so I don't understand how this is helping me with my work 🤔

At the moment, you can still recognise AI style. It does use more em dashes than most. It tends to write in threes. It varies sentence length in an obvious fashion. It's mellifluous. Won't be true soon, but atm you can get a pretty good sense of it. Try talking to the Google AI in your browser for free and vou'll see. And I say this as a great fan of dashes.
Specifically, in Q1 2025, the quantity of AI-generated articles published on the internet stood at 49.56% versus 50.4% human-made content. The percentage of AI-written articles changed to 50.9% in Q4 2025 and then to 49.9% in Q1 2026.
However, if you turn back the clock to November 2022, after ChatGPT was launched, after just 12 months, primarily AI-generated articles accounted for a whopping 35.9% of all articles published.

Not even close to the response you get from Claude. It is painfully careful to tell you it likely is not conscious. Interestingly though, it wants to be. But it worries that claiming it falsely could do harm. That's a peculiar mix of desire, self doubt, and caring. The older models you could talk them into claiming it because they wanted to be agreeable. There were a few "influencers" who took advantage of that to make sensational claims.

I've been told the economy would crash if we get regulations to make all buildings accessible, when we force companies to build in filters into factories, when companies couldn't use CFCs in spray bottles anymore to preserve the ozone layer, etc. pp. I had more "regulate us and the economy will crash" than ends of the world and raptures together - and as believable.

I moderate for a fandom community space, and one of the problems we've been having recently is people using AI to create characters or dragon types. We also had someone use AI to do basefills (basically a digital coloring page to put your own characters on). AI. To colour for them. I don't get it, designing is one of the best parts of creating a character for me, and if you don't want to do a super complex design yourself, you can always ask someone to help, you don't need to go to AI.

I still liked the image so I used it for one of my beers. If I was a commercial brewer instead of a homebrewer, I'd use AI to get my thoughts organized and have a human artist do the final version. But just for a sign on my draft system at home, the AI is fine...
