I took care of my best friend for years. I was there on all levels, and even if bad things were hapenning to me, I smiled and made sure they were fine. Until I couldn't. I fell deep into depression for a long time. Meanwhile, I was going to therapy and took meds, but nothing worked. I admit I was stuck in there for a while, but I was doing what I could. This friend didn't stick around, stating that I was doing "nothing" and that I wasn't positive enough. I understand no one owes me anything, but it hurt me deeply. Really, this person got tired of not being the centre of attention, even if he had been for me for at least 15 years. After waiting for an appointment, I finally saw a psychiatrist and was diagnosed with c-ptsd. Shortly after, I felt better. The ex-friend is still out, but by my choice.

oooh! the same happened to me! I'd been there through 15 years for my absolute best friend -through his partner's s*****e, many depressions, bad financial decisions, encouragements, in short, through everything. I was always supportive in every way that I could (time, money, etc.). meanwhile, really bad stuff had happened to me, but I rarely asked for anything or any support. until my life fell apart, went through a bad depression and finally got diagnosed with C-PTSD. for him, my diagnostic came too late, and he said I wasn't doing enough to get out of depression. after not sticking around to help me, he ghosted me. it's been 5 years and I've only seen him from afar once or twice. I finally don't miss his immature a*s anymore.

No, they come to eat mainly on land during the summer, as they need to feed their young. I guess they continue the habit until they’re off to the open ocean…

Knowing what I know now, 25 years later, I'd kill myself like I wanted to, before life got in the way. I'd know that the fleeting moments of happiness aren't worth it, that it won't get better, just worse, and that the pain is there to stay and become unbearable. I'd do it before I felt responsible for anyone or anything.
