....as an artist, and knowing a lot of artists, we do much, much more annoying things to produce art.

The black death of the 1340s and 1350s killed an estimated 75 - 200 million. It is estimated about 30% of the worlds population at that time. With an estimated world population of 7,935,000,000 30% is 2,380,500,000. With an estimated 6.1 million deaths from covid-19, 6.1 million is about 0.25% of the way to becoming the world's deadliest pandemic. Stay in school!

Actually, I did that once, age 5. I just had a feeling that my parents might not appreciate caterpillars as pets, so I put them into a shoe box, made nice big holes for air, and hid it under my bed. Woke up screaming with bugs all over me. Decided not to be a naturalist like Dr. Doolittle. (1950's--the book!)

wow. That's one smart kid.

That's what I said! When I turned 70 I thought--who knows how much longer we can travel (husband 80)--and we did it! Great, great trip. Everything I imagined and more. Wonderful. Don't miss the Japanese ''Alps''--magnificent in autumn.

As I sat to eat a sandwich in Nara, near a lovely temple, a cute deer approached--closer, closer--grabbed my lunch and ran off. We couldn't stop laughing.

So, apparently other people in the world find this strange?

This is in Nara, Japan, where the deer are treated as fellow citizens.
