Outside of that language though I don't think others will know the meaning. Plus, lots of surnames have become first names. I actually really like the name Hudson as a first name, but I couldn't choose that for a son as it's my surname. We are so far removed from 'son of' names now, by which I mean, no one knows who the original person in the family was that led to the name with that in it. Interestingly, my family don't even know if we were originally Hudson. Due literacy levels, we could have actually been Huddson, Hutson or Huttson for example.

I believe hummingbirds hover, but I don't know if any other bird, or even insect, can do it. Helicopters are an advancement in technology to be sure. :)
