It's more of a "we know more now about this than we did 5 years ago." Things I learned as absolute fact as a child are now known to be rubbish thanks to advancements in science, such as the Hopewell disappearing. They didn't disappear, their culture changed and we didn't realize it until DNA testing advanced to a point we could look for them. People will fight you on this tooth and nail because "that's not what I learned when I was a child!" (I've worked as a public archaeologist in a history museum. You either find this sort of thing entertaining or infuriating)

I decided to do without the flu shot one year. I got the flu so bad that I was actually hallucinating. I don't play around with it anymore. To leave your kids vulnerable to worse diseases (especially when you yourself have likely been vaccinated) is criminal. I can understand waiting until they are a bit older and if you don't have them in public often, but risking them because of what a nutjob has posted you should have your kids taken from you.

Full Name, "curating" is fine if it is done to remove abrasive or offensive commentary. However, when removing comments simply for stating another opinion is no longer curating but censoring. You know, the thing done by those who wish to silence opposition or indoctrinate others by propagating their ideals as being the only one there is. Yes, the anger in these comment section may be somewhat off in some cases (like the example you mentioned of the person bringing up financial standing and skin colour), but censoring your comment section/blocking users etc simply for wanting to say something different /is/ an intolerable act, irrespective of the situation at hand (do you defend Trump when he censors messages/blocks users on some of his controversial tweets, or defend the Nazi regime of WW2 Germany for removing any signs of opposition to make themselves seem justified?)

These arguments become so black and white. I have kids and went through the same struggle/learning curve.. and we decided to vaccinate, but space out the vaccinations a bit wider than normal.. We did them all.. Because over all, the risk of diseases is higher than the risk of complications with the vaccine.. Its also more socially responsible to vaccinate.. IMO.. BUT!!!! That does not mean that vaccines are perfect. There is evidence that some of them, created in the 50's and before, contain high levels of heavy Metals.. and other compounds that MIGHT be responsible for some autism or other serious problems.. So I understand the fear of those complications and I think the threat is real!!! I'ts not black and white.. Not vaccinating DEFINITELY leads to problems.. for more than just the person.. AND vaccines need to be researched further, held to blame where accountable, and improved to modern standards!!!! Over all though.. vaccinate your kids and your selves. My Opinion.

Not vaccinating is child abuse. The young man who almost died of mumps is almost certainly sterile now - he will never have children because his mother chose not to vaccinate him. Think about that for awhile.

I have to agree. When there are both men and women doing the exact same job, but there is a difference in pay - THAT is where the problem is. The issue above is similar to if someone who's got 10+ years experience in their field with evidence of high performance and another who has 4yrs experience in the same field with very little evidence of high performance. The latter is obviously going to get paid less. Gender here doesn't even come into it. People need to stop being so ready to jump on every tiny little thing and turning it into a problem!
