Mom's been gone 25 years. If I called, evil sister would answer, and be nasty to me. I have no idea if he would even remember who i was, or remember i moved 400 miles away, would ask why i don't visit anymore (because every time i did it was to derision). The nightmares have mostly stopped. But everytime someone brings him up to me, they start again. It's best I don't call. He's got other daughters to dote over him. Thank you for your concern.

I haven't spoken to my dad in a year. I have cptsd, long story, I;m almost 69 now. He's going to be 98 in a couple weeks, with mid stage dementia now. With 6 daughters, he had his favorites, I was not one of them, I had to cut him out of my life 3 years ago for my mental health. I mourn the relationship I never got to have with him. The hunting trips another sister got to take. The Sunday dinners a different sister got. The phone calls that were refused. If you can call your dad, in love, do it. If you can't, I understand, and wish you peace.

Someone who pushes their partner into an open relationship is just a cheat trying to get permission. Dump her as she will continually cheat. If two people agree they want an open relationship, that's their business, but this isn't the case here.

A looong time ago, someone posted a lengthy post about Dyatlov Pass in the newsgroups, and I unfortunately read it. There was a crapload of arguing about radiation, the victims being naked in freezing weather, and a whooole lotta misinformation, but never having heard of it, I had no way to know there was misinformation. It was presented as if aliens and/or supernatural beings had done it, and it freaked me out for *years*. Then when the web was developed, I was able to find fucktons about it, and read newspaper articles, magazines, and watch videos, and all the terror left me, as some of the “facts” I’d seen on Usenet were distorted, guesses, and some things were just plain wrong, and I went back to sleeping normally and not being frightened all the time. Sigh. I feel stupid now, but there’d been sooo much misinformation that I wasn’t aware was misinformation! Geez; I wish I’d never read that. 😞 I’m so glad we can immediately check things now!
