18 years ago, the seed of Darwin Surplus was planted when my infant son loved his sling so much that it began to tear into long strips. Patchwork seemed in order, and I made my first Bovine Constrictor in order to hold the lovey together. Darwin Surplus is a woman-owned, husband-supported, San Francisco-based business which plans to donate a percentage of the profits to our local Humane Society. A vintagerie is born!

So lovely! Knowing I would only use the petticoat for my wedding dress once, I wrote our names and date inside and passed it along to a friend for her wedding. I wonder where it is now?
