Tres D, this is a tired and incomplete explanation. Yes the climate is always changing, however, it is NEVER changed at the rate it has over the last 100 years, especially the last 30 years. It is all about the math, and the math does not lie.
I agree, she's bringing much needed attention, but she's not done anything many others haven't all ready done. The difference is she is 16 so the media gives her publicity. As for the ruined childhood, I'm guessing she means the happiness of childhood, the looking forward to a bright future, is what has been ruined. When I was a kid I worried when war broke out in the Falklands for a few months, but I never worried that the planet was dying on me. I could see how that kind of worry could screw up your childhood.
