Too many people maybe hold onto animals because they cannot bear to part with them, but the animal suffers from isolation and imprisonment (home alone most of the day and no excercise) and sadly often neglect. Never judge someone giving up a healthy animal to a shelter for adoption and a better life than they can provide due to circumstances. Only judge those who just abandon their animals or keep them in pitiful conditions, neglected, miserable and uncared for.
