Dad Chooses Baby's Name Saying It's Meaningful To Him, Mom Can't Bring Herself To Say It Out Loud
Dad Chooses Baby's Name Saying It's Meaningful To Him, Mom Can't Bring Herself To Say It Out Loud

My friend had a similar situation but she was in a very abusive relationship and thought she was stuck with the awful name her partner picked. Eventually she realised it was affecting the relationship she had with her baby and this was the sole reason she finally left her partner and changed her son's name (most countries have a law where a person can change their child's name within a certain timeframe) 28 years later she has an amazing relationship with her son and feels that she bonded even more by claiming him back and choosing a name that suited him.

Teen Has A Meltdown During Family Christmas After Her Dad's New Wife Tries To Become Her Mom

Don't think anyone's TA in this situation. A little girl lost her mother and that's a horrible thing to happen to a young girl, No one could ever replace a mother who left her babies too soon. However the father should be allowed to move on and remarry and fortunately he seemed to find a new wife who not only accepted his previous life and his kids, but also actively tried to develop a relationship with them. Hopefully overtime these 2 can at least develop a friendship if not an actual family relationship. This stepmom genuinely seems like she wants to be a loving part of this girl's life but perhaps she needs to rethink her role as the "new mom"

Couple Takes Back $50 Tip After The Waiter Complains It’s Not Enough
Couple Takes Back $50 Tip After The Waiter Complains It’s Not Enough

I live in the UK find the whole tipping situation in America pretty confusing.here we'll tip around 10% but it varies on the type of place and how much the meal cost. I worked as a waitress for a few years and was always happy with just a few £ as a tip. but it is law here that we are all paid at least the minimum wage so tips were literally just a little thank you rather than an essential aspect of my income

Brother Introducing His Fiancée At A Family Event Takes A Turn When His Sister Recognizes Her High School Bully And Sheds Light On Her Past

Bullies have a nasty habit of "forgetting" what they did. I was bullied pretty much throughout my childhood + teens and it literally affected every part of who I am as an adult -basically the bullying stopped because I just stopped socialising or interacting with people unless absolutely necessary. My sister tried to date one of my bullies several years ago and I basically had to tell her I wouldn't be seeing her at all when she was with him, he was never sorry for what he did and I barely saw her for over a year until they separated. The problem is most people don't understand what affects bullying can have on some people. Most people were bullied at some point as kids but there are a few who's lives were almost completely destroyed by what was said and/or done to them. It's not weakness it's trauma and not everyone can recover from it

"My Bad For Not Cooking Enough": Pregnant Woman Left Hungry And Mad After Her MIL Ate Her Portion Of The Dinner
"My Bad For Not Cooking Enough": Pregnant Woman Left Hungry And Mad After Her MIL Ate Her Portion Of The Dinner

Ok wtf! This person ate someone else's dinner and basically refused to allow her pregnant daughter in law to eat her meal. That's not even slightly ok and the fact that the husband didn't intervene immediately when witnessing these events is pretty bad, though at least he took her side later. Seriously I don't know what story the MIL told online but no decent person in their right mind would agree that the DIL was TAH.

Woman Wonders If She Was Wrong To Bake Cupcakes For Her Office, Excluding A Certain Co-Worker

Honestly I'm surprised "Leo" was the only person to reject the offer of a cupcake. It seems like a nice gesture to home bake cakes but allocating 1 cupcake per person (especially if there wasn't actually enough for everyone in the office) is a pretty bold move. I wonder what would have happened if Leo had actually accepted the offered cupcake, someone would still have lost out

"I Called The Cops On My Neighbors Because They Don’t Walk Their Dog": Resident Angers Both Their Neighbors And The Internet
"I Called The Cops On My Neighbors Because They Don’t Walk Their Dog": Resident Angers Both Their Neighbors And The Internet

NTA for showing concern for the welfare of an animal but this was a huge overreaction. I don't know what country the poster is from but in the Uk there are organisations which can be called to report concerns for animal welfare. I had to call about a neighbour's cat who had an obvious injury but didn't appear to have received treatment - someone went out to check and the matter was resolved, the neighbours were a little indignant that someone had reported it but i felt it was better to have trained professional ensure the cat's welfare and it got the treatment he needed so I'm not sorry for calling. If someone is concerned an animal is being abused or neglected then I don't think it's an AH move to check on their welfare but calling the police + continuing to pursue the issue after being told the animal is safe and well cared for is OTT.

I don't think that this woman was an a**hole. Maybe she could have found out the information without calling the police. But the reason she called was that she did suspect animal neglect or abuse. In a situation like that it is dangerous to confront one's neighbors. They can become belligerent or violent. Or they can even escalate their abusive treatment of the animal involved. Calling in the authorities is absolutely the safest and correct thing to do.
