I'm vegetarian but I absolutely do not expect anyone to cater to me. I always check the menu before going to restaurants, and when going to a family gathering for example or a BBQ I bring my own "veggie" option so I can still enjoy a meal with them without requiring them to make me something that fits my needs. It's my choice so why should I expect others to go out of their way to make something work at the last minute??

While I am pleased to see more restaurants and bakeries catering to a wide range of dietary restrictions and allergies, I still cannot stress enough how important it is to call a restaurant in advance or review their menu if you have any specific dietary needs. You cannot expect for every restaurant to cater to your needs or magically whip up a vegan dessert or meal out of thin air. It puts a lot of pressure on the wait staff and the chef. If you call in advance, many restaurants are happy to discuss dietary needs and restrictions and will let you know whether they can accommodate you.

Totally don't understand the hateful comment. The couple looked so happy. Maybe KFC was their first date. Maybe it's their go to fastfood place. Maybe they met there. Frankly it doesn't matter. I left home to get away from my alcoholic family when I was 18. I couldn't wait to be on my own! But you know what? I starved. Very seriously starved. Most times I lived on plain bread or rice, and tea or water. Protein and fresh veg was a far away dream. Many days there was nothing to eat. Food banks were just starting up then - you could go once every three months and get about 3-5 days worth of food. (Real hunger that lasts days is agonizing by the way.) Got in trouble many times because I was so late with the rent. Messed up my credit rating for many years. TV? Lol, I didn't even have a phone. It was a little better when I got roommates, but it was still a huge struggle. I support and encourage independent living, but why do we glorify that level of poverty? If parents and their kids are happy with their arrangements, then why judge?

Not all women can/want to use birth control pills. In the case of some health issues/diseases/beliefs it is impossible. Besides, hormonal contraception has many cons. For example, it increases the risk of thrombosis, which may eventually lead to pulmonary embolism or a stroke.

The key words are "exercise" and "fun". Rodents do not like to be encapsulated. Inside the ball, they do not decide for how long they want to stay inside - it's only up to the owner's will - so there is no voluntary aspect of this "exercise". Running wheels & discs are good, because animal can use them spontaneously. The animal has constant oxygen access (so the risk of a heatstroke in a properly ventilated room is small (rodents are prone to overheating) & an animal can stop running at any time. In the running ball animal can't receive stimuli from the outside, it can't navigate easily. The faster it runs, trying to get out, the faster the ball rolls - it may hit something causing animal injury. Finally, from a physiological point of view: since when good fun causes an increase in cortisol levels? Last - and disgusting - in those balls (torture devices tbh) animal often runs in its own feces. Would you be having fun rolling in urine?

It's kinda funny, how you, people from all over the world write about the custom of taking off the shoes at the entrance of someone's house, while in my country (Poland) a lot of people argue about it. They say, for example, that taking off shoes inside equals lack of good manners/respect for your visitors if you ask them to do so/informs everyone, that you are an ignorant peasant and do not comprehend the customs of civilized people. Yet, you all say it is quite opposite. Maybe it is how our national inferiority complex demonstrates itself. I have no idea. All in all, I like to take off my shoes at the entrance of someone's house - socks/slippers are more comfy than heels (torture devices).

There are many circumstances which result in staying with parents. Not everyone who lives with their parents can't cope in life. Maybe someone wants to save on their own flat in this way? Maybe he could not save if he had to pay the bills & rent? Maybe parents are elderly or sick and require care? On the other hand: maybe someone had to move out early in adult life, because there was violence/alcohol abuse in this house? Maybe someone was orphaned and had to learn how to cope earlier than his/her colleagues? Maybe someone is talented, has a great job, earns a lot and could start living alone at an early age? Not all parents are supportive and not all families are happy. Examples can be multiplied indefinitely, but that's not the point. Why are people so judgmental? What's wrong with us? Isn't it better to share positive energy instead of humiliating people? Mind your own business. Be good for each others. Don't judge. You never know, what life is preparing for you.

e, they are really used to harm animals. Those exercise balls are harmful for rodents. Owners shouldn't use them, if they really love their pets. Pet feels trapped inside the ball, gets anxious and nervous and tries to escape, not to explore. They should not be sold, just like braces for rabbits or guinea pigs. Under the guise of providing the pet with a daily portion of exercisI get mad at the sight of these exercise balls. Trust me, I'm a biologist.

As someone who studied animal care and now animal management: I agree. Not only that, they can break their toes if they get stuck in the slits. It's better to give them a large enclosed space (you can use fine wire mesh as long as any sharp ends are covered) with some toys.
