Because a great many fans ARE horrified. Loosey Goosey is right - football matches are designed the way they are for a reason. Longer than 15 mins and it's genuinely not good for the players. We also don't want football changed just because one country decided that they wanted a half time show. The match is the show and doesn't require poncing up.

The 15‑minute half‑time isn’t arbitrary either. It’s a carefully engineered limit based on player physiology and match flow. When half time breaks are longer: muscle temperature drops, lactic acid builds, stiffness increases, injury risk spikes (hamstring, groin, calf), explosive power decreases. Sports science shows that after 15 minutes of rest, performance declines sharply unless players warm up again which defeats the point of a break. It is NOT a good idea. The MATCH is the entertainment. Nothing else is needed.

Love War Of The Worlds. Recently did the Immersive Experience in London! So worth it.

Yorkie chocolate bar did something similar with their "it's not for girls" ad campaign in the UK. They used slogans like "don't feed the birds" (birds being slang in the UK for a young woman) and some of their TV ads showed women dressing up as men and answering questions about sport to prove their "manliness". It was very apparently successful because it ran for a couple of years. The 00s were a different time.

Oh but the chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one!
