Social stigma is bad enough, but in the case of the BAD, learning in depth about it only serves to reinforce it, so, fair or not, the advice is a reasonable one. Removing the stigma doesn't remove the liability. There is a greater risk in getting involved with someone with a disorder than with a healthy person so why would you want to consciously do it to yourself, if you can help it? Asking someone to do it just because there are functioning people with the BAD is asking someone to play the Russian roulette just because some of the chambers are not loaded.
Jamelia would make it way up the hierarchy of the Stalinist Russia.
