81 Wedding Moments In Which People Realized That The Marriage Wasn’t Going To Last Long

My in-laws paid over 40k (in the 00s) for my SIL's first wedding. It was a European destination wedding at a castle and that 40k did NOT include the flights and accommodations they paid for anyone who couldn't afford it (and that was almost everyone). The day of the wedding my SIL wore a custom gown (yes, the in-laws paid for that too) while her fiance showed up in a fedora and vest (no shirt). The day after the wedding (3 day celebration) we were at a pub and the groom got absolutely plastered and had a conversation with the bridesmaids about his favourite s*x acts (my MIL was sitting next to him). I gave it a year, they lasted 15 months. Honestly I think the amount you spend on a wedding is inversely proportional to how long it lasts. She's on husband #2, they got married in a registry office and will celebrate their 15th anniversary this year.

I don't get the guys who think parents are the way to get around a "no". I was in my 20's when a stalker tried this. My parents knew about him, though they'd never met him before, but somehow this psycho thought if he could convince my dad he was a "nice guy" I'd go out with him. Up until last year there were a row of gorgeous, full grown trees along our back fence. Unfortunately they were not on our property and the people who live behind us decided to clear cut to allow them to put up a fence. Said fence is less than a third of the height of the trees that were there. They now have a perfect view of our backyard and 2nd level windows. The city basically said "their property, their choice", so I'm now researching "fastest growing trees".
