They are, but pandas get a huge amount of attention because they are cute and cuddly. I can't imagine there will be a huge public interest in the cuban crocodile, or the Guatemalan Beaded Lizard. There are groups working on conservation of these animals, but I very much doubt there will be huge fanfare when a zoo recieves a breeding pair of Wagner's vipers.

These men didn't NEED to TP anyone's house. These men didn't NEED to pull any pranks. They chose to, and someone died because of their decisions. Whether or not the actual deáth was an accident is immaterial - if they had not decided to trespass and vandalize a teacher's home, that teacher would be alive. It is terrifying how many people are going "Aww, the poor boys, it was JUST a prank, they didn't MEAN to kíll anyone!" is terrifying. Would you say the same thing if a group of 18-year-olds had run over your husband/father/brother/etc while committing a "prank"?
