It may seem that way, but after the insulation, we put the plywood panels on the walls and oiled them with mineral oil. The floor planks were already in when we were putting the aluminum skin on out in the desert, so the wall panels were essentially all I skipped. I had the same thoughts. The summer heat was what got me thinking otherwise, though. One would be better off underground. It's brutal out there.

Thank you for commenting. I do have a few more photos and vids of these places. We were just as curious about the memorial. It had been set up on a high place, but due to its immense weight we were wondering how they got it up there. Sadly, someone at some point had also knocked it over; I don't think it could've been the wind.

This is what I love seeing. Please say you have more pictures of these houses or others, this was like just having an appetizer and not getting the meal. The memorial is somewhat sad, would like to know that story behind it. Thanks for posting.
