That's right, my terrier with really short hair started to get matted after no haircut after a while, and we had to trim his fur.

People just need to brush their dogs a few times a week, thats all, nothing more needed, some fur/hair types need a bit more of course, short breeds shouldn't need a lot of grooming at all, this is lovely of course but its wholly unnecessary and i'm sure costs a lot. No dogs needs to be groomed in a salon every 6-8 weeks, thats ridiculous and could quite easily be detrimental to the dogs skin. My terrier gets his hair cut 3 times a year, full short cut everytime and he has lovely fur and skin.

The best example here would have been Calvin... went from disgruntled postal employee to happy-go-lucky inside of however long it took to trim him.

I guess they could have done without the styling on top of that, though. ;)

Agreed, they need the grooming, what does it matter if they look cute after for a day or so? Dogs aren't toys, but we are guilty of far worse with our kids in the quest for cuteness, thinking here of the ruffles put on baby girl clothing on every spare inch of cloth.
