I wanted to get people playing on the streets of Newcastle town. I had seen pictures from the fifties of kids swinging around lampposts. I also wanted people saying Shakespeare in public. Suddenly the two came together, make lampposts into swingball and make a game that features people having to read shakespeare, and learn the Iambic Pentameter by striking the ball only on the weighted foot of the rhyme. I think people find it fun. It will hopefully also broaden peoples interest in the arts.
