FORGOTTEN HISTORY: People forget others names twitter | History Defined
Oh, that strange feeling of forgetting someone’s name! Even people with the best memory can probably sometimes lose this piece of important information about a freshly met person. Of course, going totally blank 2 seconds after learning it is one thing, but some people spend quite a surprising amount of time using the wrong name or not knowing it at all.
Has it ever happened to you that you forgot a person’s name immediately after someone told it to you? Well, you’re not alone. Below is a list of posts shared by people on Twitter as a response to a viral Tweet. Kristen Mulrooney, who goes by @missmulrooney on Twitter, shared a simple story of how her husband just simply said "I’m sorry, I forget your name?" But turns out that people on the internet have more stories related to forgetting people’s names and even more clever hacks for getting themselves out of a potentially embarrassing situation. Don’t forget to vote for the best posts and leave your comments!

Same but then I just call them "sweetie" or something instead. I've had many students over the years and could recognize most even after they left my class, but names are 100% not my thing. Terrible with them.
actually laffed out loud at this. my high school chemistry teacher called me Eric the entire year. I never bothered correcting him, i was the only "Eric" in the class. and no...my name isn't eric...
nods. i have never used 'whistledick,' but i like it. besides just warning folks i'll be asking their names again a few times....i've been known to give individual folks their own individual nicknames. for whatever reason, a name i give them sticks in my head better than the name they actually have. weird, really...
If you have to do that with a Portuguese woman, just call her Maria. There's a 90% chance it will be her name.
Considering all the variations that people name their kids these days....I personally know a Phred.....
Huh, would this still work with Bob, Jim, Tim, Matt, or Ted? Lol, Bobb, Gym, Time, Mat, and Teed
Customers area always making me feel like I have to remember their names. Like "remember me? I'm here all the time!" ... I see like 500 people a week. I remember no one. And then it always turns out the last time they were in (after looking at their customer profile) was 3 months ago. :-|
I always tell my co-workers, if I remember a customer‘s name, that usually means they’re a trouble maker ^^,
Load More Replies...FYI: If someone ever hands over their phone for *YOU* to put your number in, you are also expected to put your name in. It's the best way to hide this awkward conversation gymnastics.
I wouldn't take someone's phone and get their germs on me nor would I want my fingerprints on their phone. It could be a scam.
