One of my friends from high school is in an arranged engagement.
It shocked everyone when we came to school one day and she announced that she was engaged. She was 16 at the time. Apparently at her 16th birthday, her parents asked if she wanted to get engaged to a boy whose family was friends with her family, and she said yes. In her words, "He was hot, so why not?"
She told me she was nervous the first few times they hung out, but now they have been engaged for several years and get along really well. He's super romantic, which she likes a lot. They aren't going to be married for a while, but from what I have heard I think both of them are happy.
