THE TRUTH ABOUT: Everything announced at gamescom opening night live 2026 - Caught on Camera

Witcher 3 Remastered key art featuring Geralt and friends.

That's it; Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 is officially over! And what an experience it was, huh? While relatively light on the heaviest of hitters, the few major announcements from Geoff Keighley and company were still impressive enough. Plus, there's the entire actual Gamescom event to go, so it's best to really think of two hours of trailers, reveals, and news as something of an appetizer.

A good chunk of the major announcements had been teased in some way, but CD Projekt Red had one reveal up its sleeve that really saved Gamescom ONL this year. Keep reading for every major announcement out of ONL, and if you want to experience truly everything, the archived recap of the live blog is just beyond.

Everything announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026

  • Lego Skylines is the city-building game of my dreams
    • I'm not even personally a Cities: Skylines guy, but the idea of all of that simulation being produced through the lens of Lego is cool enough to have me salivating. I'll be looking forward to learning a release date for this one.

Gamescom: ONL 2026 Live Recap

What are you hoping to see at Gamescom ONL 2026?

We're still a couple of hours away from Gamescom ONL actually starting, so there's still time to sit and consider what it is that you actually want out of what is – let's be honest – one big advertisement. The Game Awards at least has the smokescreen of presenting awards; Gamescom ONL is a convention kickoff event.

With that in mind, what is it that you find most interesting from an event like Gamescom Opening Night Live? World premieres? New trailers? Release date announcements? Let us know!

The Witcher 3 DLC makes itself known

While there's plenty we don't know about Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, one of the bigger reveals that is known about is that CD Projekt Red will be presenting the first good look at The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, the upcoming expansion to the now-classic RPG created alongside Fool's Theory.

The expectation is that the new expansion will serve as connective tissue between The Witcher 3 and The Witcher 4, but exactly how that'll work remains to be seen. "[P]layers can once again take on the role of Geralt of Rivia and embark on a brand-new adventure before heading out on the Path as Ciri in the upcoming The Witcher 4," the official website reads in part.

Given The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past is set to launch in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, it seems unlikely that we'll get a release date – unless it's for something like January, which isn't entirely impossible. A man can dream!

The final (?) Final Fantasy 7 remake

Another big RPG that's set to make some kind of appearance during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 is Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the latest and greatest entry in the ongoing Final Fantasy 7 remake series. This isn't speculation on my part, either; Geoff Keighley went and just… tweeted it out.

"A new look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation will premiere on Tuesday, August 25, as part of [Gamescom] Opening Night Live, introduced by game director [Naoki Hamaguchi]," Keighley shared on social media earlier this month.

What, exactly, does that mean? Who knows! Probably a trailer at least? Maybe some new gameplay? Frankly, it probably doesn't matter; it's new Final Fantasy 7 details, and that's likely enough for basically anyone tuning in.

Wizardry of the coasts

Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro also have a lot riding on this Gamescom ONL, and not just for one single game. Exodus, the upcoming sci-fi RPG from developer Archetype Entertainment, and Warlock, the upcoming D&D RPG from Invoke Studios, are both set to debut something or other during today's festivities. You can expect trailers, but perhaps with more than just that.

While we've seen a good chunk of detail on Exodus (see the Exodus Big Preview from June 2026 that I spearheaded), details on Warlock have been fairly light by comparison. It seems like Warlock might finally be ready to show off some gameplay, while Exodus appears to be just showing… more. Could we possibly get full-on release dates for both titles during Gamescom Opening Night Live? I wouldn't be surprised.

The pre-show kicks off in one hour!

We are officially 60 minutes away from the pre-show kicking off for Gamescom: ONL 2026. If history tells me anything, it's that this will be well worth tuning into. While the pre-show lacks the spectacle of the main showcase, it has been known to house some smaller gameplay updates and new title reveals.

Last look at E-Day

I expect Xbox to feature prominently in the Gamescom: Opening Night Live showcase. The publisher took a big swing during Summer Game Fest, announcing that it was bringing back console exclusives – starting with Gears of War: E-Day.

We already know that E-Day will appear, with The Coalition set to air a story trailer focusing on the beginnings of the Locust war on Sera.

It's been a challenging few weeks for Xbox (to say the least), so I wouldn't be surprised to see more reveals and announcements from the group during Gamescom: ONL – especially with the 25th anniversary fast approaching. Drop into the comments and let us know what you'd like to see!

It's worth remembering that Gamescom 2026 is the last real chance for major publishers and hopeful indies alike to try and gain some visibility before everybody's attention gets sucked into the GTA 6 vortex come November 19. There's a lot of games already on the release schedule for this year and next, so I do have some hope that this is a showcase where everybody decides to go big.

The Gamescom Opening Night Live pre-show is nearly here! (Though it looks like maybe it'll actually start in about three minutes?) Last chance to get some snacks, hit the bathroom, and generally speculate among friends.

What's the one game you hope to see more than anything? What about the one you'd absolutely go wild over but least expect? The answer, at least for me, to both might be "Valkyria Chronicles 5." I am nothing if not consistent.

And here we go! Kyle Bosman is here to do his thing. "Pre-shows do typically exist just to pump up the audience," he says. Yeah, I know. Bosman goes on to claim that the pre-show is also stuffed with trailers, however, so OK. We kick off with a new game announcement for... Worms?

Yeah, this looks like Worms Meets XCOM? Worms: Galactic Tactics, coming 2027. Regular ole Worms also apparently in development? Good for them.

And now: trains. Good for trains, honestly. I keep waiting for this to take a darn turn, but I think it's just Train Sim World 7, coming September 15, 2026. All right.

OK, now we're into the real stuff. Sim Theme Park? No, RollerCoaster Tycoon: Wonderworks. OK. Sure looks like it! Spreadsheets for money, settings for speeds and so on. If you've played RCT, you get the idea.

I've already lost the plot on what's happening. Some kind of even-more anime Palworld? Has the vibe of a monster battler from Korea or China. Aniimo, I guess. Cool.

No time to waste thinking about Aniimo! Now we're onto Heavenly Blade sequel (probably not, but can you imagine?) Lots of action RPG elements happening. Dragons and phoenix (what's the plural of phoenix?) and more. Demigods Nezha, seems like.

And now something horrible, because horror. Get it? OK. First-person POV, wandering through a dark house. Thumps on the door. It's probably fine, right? Perceptum, coming Spring 2027. All right then.

And now: what's next from the Tinykin team. Oh, I like this art. Reads a bit like classic Flash titles. Chipmunk absolutely just bodied that zombie(?) by spitting at it. What if Kirby were Binding of Isaac, but exceptionally cute? Sign me up. Plus some kind of shop management? Sign everyone up.

Acornia: Mirror World, coming 2027.

And now, more from that Napoleon-era Soulslike Valor Mortis, I think. Seems gross, which is maybe exactly what the team was going for so, you know, kudos. "What will this... thing, do to me?" Dunno, man! Maybe stop touching it.

And now, something from Kepler Interactive. Looks a bit like tank-based Armored Core? TankRat. With a poem from William Blake.

And now some kind of puzzler/third-person roguelike from the folks that made Disney Illusion Island. Murals, out 2027. Love the look of that, to be honest. "I've been married to hundreds of mimes, hundreds of times." Is that... really what he said?

No time to let that sink in, however. Something from Amplitude Studios now! "Humankind is about to begin again!" Are they... giving Humankind another go? This is that studio? Yeah, Humankind 2, coming 2027.

And now something new from Afterburner and Focus. Creepy underground rock folks, beefy automaton guy is the protagonist. What if Sifu was God of War robots is kind of the vibe. Creepy dragon skeleton, bro. Don't touch that jewel-looking thing... Or that dragon, let's be honest. Wait, is dragon... friend? Dragon is friend!

Elta: Defy All Gods, out early 2027. Yeah, OK.

And now: a two-player co-op game. Bit futuristic? Weird bracelets that changes your ages? "A birthday treasure hunt from mom!" Sure. It Takes Two, but this time parent and child. Age Twisters. Cool.

Capcom up with Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Sure looks like more Onimusha! Do you like Onimusha? Then you'll like this Onimusha, probably. That's just my guess. (Is it obvious that I've not played an Onimusha game?)

The demo has been expanded with a "deadly duel" and it's available now!

A new trailer for Mariachi Legends, the Mexico-based Metroidvania. Seems cool! Colorful and music so far is a bop. Coming April 27, 2027. And now, an interview with the creator! "Alucard's suit is like 90% of a mariachi suit already." I mean... not wrong.

And now we're doing a skit before the actual Gamescom Opening Night Live. OK. Is now a good time to tell you all that Dolly Parton has died? It's not relevant to Gamescom, but I'm personally devasted.

And here's Gamescom ONL proper! Geoff takes the stage. How's the footwear looking? I can't tell from here.

Geoff starting off with a tribute to his late father, and how the timing of last year coincided with all of that. "Thank you for this moment, everybody."

Geoff specifically notes all of the terrible gaming news – layoffs, hardware problems, and more – but there is still plenty to be excited about for games and teams from across the world. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, Tides of Annihilation, Warlock, Gears of War, and more. First in-game footage from The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, as well. And the first musical performance of the music from Mewgenics... OK.

First up in proper Gamescom ONL: the new Hoyoverse title! The vibes are much darker, closer to Elden Ring or what we've seen of Tides of Annihilation. "How can a few dying embers reignite the flames of rebellion?" British accents detected. Something's in the water. Is this Expedition 33's fault somehow? Game of Thrones?

OK, yeah, it kind of looks like they just summoned a big spirit to help out? I know Elden Ring when I see it.

Nodus Fall, from Hoyoverse, an original co-op action game. "Wield Divinity, Sever the Dreadnodus." You got it, Hoyoverse.

Sjokz takes the stage! Thanks Geoff, hypes up what they're going to reveal tonight. First reveal from her: Rainbow Six Tactics. So... Rainbow Six meets XCOM? Yeah, sure looks like it.

I genuinely don't know why all the developers got together and said, "You know what rules? XCOM rules," but I'm glad they did.

I can't even be mad about how XCOM this is. Rainbow Six Tactics, out 2027.

But enough of that! We're here for Gears of War: E-Day with the campaign trailer and the first look at the Locust leader. Can I be emotionally present with all of you? I'm not a Gears of War boy. I'd have played this on PS5... if it were releasing for PS5.

Anyway, those are some beefy boys. "Actual monsters are coming out of the ground and ripping people apart!" Yeah, looks like it. "We're Gears! We fight." You tell 'em.

While we watch Gears shooting at Locust, it feels like a good time to share that apparently "Nodusfall" is one word. Hoyoverse, why.

Gears of War: E-Day is out October 6, 2026. Cool.

And now: Ananta. Snarky dialogue, big city. I can't tell if they're calling this guy "yi master" or "yeet master" and honestly, it could go either way. I'm not positive what the gameplay loop is here. Action-y punching? Management? Climbing? ...there's flying cars? And bikes. And regular cars. And legally distinct '80s music.

January 15, 2027 is the Ananta release date. I feel like I know less about what this game is, especially with it ending on a UFO looming in the background? OK.

And now: a new look at Silent Hill Townfall. Looks spooky. "Hey Simon, listen, I need you to come back to the town... and put some things to rest." Interesting choice of words there.

Creepy critters, drab houses, plenty of fog. Is that the monster from The Mist? Out September 24, 2026.

No time to linger! Right on to Plague Tale, I think? This lady looks like she's having a bad time. Yeah, Resonance, the Plague Tale game.

And now for some kind of... puppetry pirates game? I'm a sucker for an unusual art style, and this one appears to have various styles of gameplay. Ship battles, action fights with critters, puzzles. Sea of Remnants, which you can pre-register for now.

Crimson Desert Enhanced up now, touting a bunch of improvements. I should hope so, Crimson Desert Enhanced. New story moments maybe the biggest selling point. Seems a bit... early to be promoting an enhanced edition.

And now, Tides of Annihilation! With a new look and new voice actor, as Jennifer English is no longer attached. The voice of Grace Ashcroft is stepping in here.

"If you wish to reclaim London, you must harness the fog." Sure thing, bud. You got it. I will harness that fog. Why does the fog turn into a sword? Who could possibly say. Like the look of this action against big critters, Bayonetta-style, however. I don't really know what's going on, but I like it.

Up next: Alessandro Durando, creative director of Unrelated Studio. "I genuinely never expected to be here, on this stage." Good for you. Uncovering memories sounds neat. Believe he was calling it Love Song? Wasn't expecting this black and white color palette. Bit like Journey meets Cocoon. I'm not mad about it.

Lofsong! Not Love Song. Available to wishlist now. Neat. "What a beautiful and artistic game, made right here in Europe," says Geoff.

Capcom here with Mega Man: Dual Override gameplay! You love to see it. That sure looks like Dr. Wily's silhouette in the intro... Gameplay looks pretty much like what you might expect a modern Mega Man game to be. But hello there, Twinkle Girl. An enemy boss?

Mega Man powers up in the middle of the fight to take her out, however, and we cut to key art with Protoman. Also? Pragmata is getting a skin this year, but Dual Override is out in 2027.

But enough of that! Now we've got Ubisoft here with musical Rayman stages, which is obviously very important. Is this... yes, it is, a Macarena stage. Rayman Legends Retold is out October 1, 2026. Good for him.

And now, more announcements! Sure looks like what if PUBG were set in the Pacific Northwest in the '90s. PUBG Ded.Net it is. Do you like PUBG, but want more Fortnite-style wackiness? Ded.Net.

A quick Once Human ad immediately going into... Control Resonant, I think? Love the style of Remedy games, I can't lie. Big hammer hitting big critter, jumping around, strange physics... Yeah, I'll take it, thanks. I couldn't tell you anything about what's actually happening narratively, but Control Resonant is out September 24, 2026.

Looks like Blood of Dawnwalker gameplay! I'm always a bit confused with these events show off some big new game that people can play for themselves in the near future, but then again, maybe a new IP needs all the help it can get.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is out September 3, 2026. Yes, that's right; next week.

Game of Thrones: War for Westeros up next, which is basically Age of Empires for Game of Thrones, or so it looks. I like both of those things! It's no Total War, but then what is... except Total War.

Looks like dragons can burn down fortresses, you can have creatures from beyond the Wall, and so on. "The fate of Westeros, is yours to decide." Out 2027. Night King on the Iron Throne is certainly, dare I say, chilling.

And now something new from the Darksiders Genisys folks, Airship Syndicate. Dust: Origins. "In this prison, everything wants to kill you." Looks a bit like a Doom-flavored Diablo? Coll critters, fun with lighting. Bloody. Cool.

And now they're doing some kind of immersive thing at Gamescom ONL in person? "Searching for a pulse, initializing reality." I feel like a stick in the mud when I say stuff like this, but, uh, this looks to be a Gamescom ad for... Gamescom? "Welcome to the heart of gaming."

Thankfully, that's over. And now for Exodus! Talking about your party, including awakened animals. We're going to get a good look at Salt, an awakened octopus. Love me some companions, honestly.

"I hunt, you pay. This is agreed," Salt says when the protagonist strikes up a conversation. Salt, if you've not been following along, is something of a fan-favorite character already. Hard not to like "Octopus Mech Sniper," however.

Exodus releases April 7, 2027. "Time is our great enemy, but we must always have hope."

Wizards of the Coast apparently wanted one block to itself because Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons is up next! Maggie Robertson is up to introduce. Warlock apparently has the protagonist make a pact with Tasha, which is a big deal if you know D&D.

Tasha marks Katri, and the pact is made. Gameplay looks a bit like if someone took Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and tried to make a Witcher game. Gameplay shows our warlock build a step to descend before leaping down and being attacked. Knocking down pillars onto enemies, swapping places. Looks like there will maybe be plenty of spells and weapons? Hard to say from this initial look.

The warlock casts some kind of ritual to call down raining before shocking enemies with electricity. Smart. (I think; what do I know, I'm not a warlock.) Swordplay leads to hammers leads to gusts of wind to coup de grace. Neat. The big undead-looking creature isn't so easily taken out, however, and Katri has to dodge, dip, duck, dive, and dodge. There's seemingly some kind of temporal manipulation going on? Maybe time slows when you're doing spells.

Warlock is out in 2027! Check out the trailer for yourself:

And now, a new game inspired by One Thousand and One Night. Looks a bit like what Prince of Persia would like to be if it were a game like Forspoken. (This is not a complaint.) The veil is thinning between two worlds, bringing chaos and war. "Yet many stories remain... untold." 1001: Threads of Mizan is playable on the floor at Gamescom, apparently.

Having a hard time describing what we've segued into. Detective? Cult horror? Gacha anime? Silver Palace. "The final clue is in that cursed place." Lots of shots of legs and feet.

Monster Hunter Outlanders up now with... untranslated text on the screen for details? But immediately into Metro 2039 with devs taking the stage. Jon Bloch and Pavel Ulmer here to introduce new gameplay. "Metro, to us, is about people." What they sacrifice, what's taken away from them. Both talk sort of obliquely about the ongoing war in Ukraine. Ulmer says development was "pretty tough, trust me."

"Metro 2039 is not simple a return to Metro." Bloch says it's darker, more personal. The tunnels are waiting. "Proudly made in Ukraine" is the first thing on screen before we segue into a better look at Metro 2039 gameplay. Sure looks like tunnels and people in tunnels and a wasteland aboveground. Monsters, radiation, close quarters and weapon modifications. Sure looks like Metro to me.

"The enemy must be destroyed" being repeated over and over isn't terrifying. Metro 2039, out February 2027. I wouldn't mind playing that now.

Snoop Dogg is apparently being hunted in Hitman. Nothing I say here will do the trailer justice, but please just understand there is a lot of weed. "The Herbalist" is the Elusive Target. Sure.

And now Aion 2! It's a sequel MMO! It's out October 5, 2026! This normally the part where I say something like, "Sure looks like Aion 2," but honestly the colors and camera movements are working for me. Also, that brief moment shown of swimming underwater looks great?

This looks like that leaked Paradox post-apocalyptic strategy game, Afterworld. We called it "Fallout meets Crusader Kings" when it leaked yesterday, and it sure does look exactly like that.

And now for more Hoyoverse! A charming, colorful trailer for Petit Planet, which is a bit like Animal Crossing but not quite. If you wanted Infinity Nikki to have more building, Petit Planet is coming later this year.

And now Mewgenics music! If you're here for trailers, now's a good time to quickly grab some more water. But, also, this performance kind of slaps so many keep an ear out?

It's still going, by the way. I don't know what to tell you here. I like Mewgenics. I think I like this music. For the record, my boss Josh West does not.

Mewgenics is coming to console on September 8! Launch trailer for Aliens Fireteam Elite 2! Coming fast and furious now that the music is done.

And right into a trailer for 1666: Amsterdam. Lot of cat possession going on in here. "The force emanated from her, like nothing I'd see before." Wow. Dang.

No time to linger, however. We're immediately onto... some kind of samurai zombie game? With a citypop soundtrack. And hopscotch, and legally distinct Space Harrier? Showa American Story! And then next, with absolutely no break, Road Kings. March 11, 2027. Now that's what I call truckin'.

And another Gamescom ONL ad for Gamescom itself. Free space if you're doing some kind of bingo activity.

News editor Iain Harris keeps reminding me there's still 40 minutes to go and I keep reminding him to shut up, I'm working here.

And now a new look at Stage Tour. Which, you know, isn't not Rock Band or Guitar Hero with bobble-headed characters. Lots of ways to play, generally like the soundtrack here, but can't help but be suspicious of any game that relies on licensed music. Launches December 10, 2026.

And here's Crazy Taxi World Tour, which looks like Crazy Taxi. Wild and wacky hijinks and jumps, coming 2027.

I cannot believe I am saying this but is this a new Turok with Patrick Stewart narrating?

Turok Origins, coming Spring 2027. That was, uh, some bloody combat, but who knows how much if any of that was actually relevant to gameplay. I guess we'll see!

New co-op action game with space dogs for some reason. No Man's Best Friend Sky? Basebuilding? Shooting? Gravhounds, is the name, apparently. Coming early 2026. Sjokz immediately barked after.

Lego Skylines! Cities Skylines but Lego? Sign me up. Also, Transport Fever 3 is available at the end of September. But immediately into some kind of Lethal Company meets Helldivers.

"The only crew that gets paid for what others won't." Exterminauts, wishlist now. Sure.

Up now: a Diablo-style action RPG, looks like. Lots of swordplay and magic with critters all around. Big sword can do ice magic, seemingly, which I am all for. Also, the whirlwind dervish ability seems cool. "I will take what I'm owed." Oh wait, Path of Exile 2 1.0 release on December 11. Yeah, "Diablo-style action RPG" basically covers it.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Remake up now! The great king is dead, enemies are looking to feed on the kingdom's remains. You know how it goes, right? "One of the greatest strategy games faithfully remade." I was always more of a King's Bounty kid, but this does look cool. Dragons, griffins, horsies, they're all here.

Gamescom Cares, the charity segment, up now. Games Done Quick's Ashley Farkas up to talk about speedrunning and charity donations, which makes sense given GDQ is doing its first Gamescom event, apparently.

They're talking about the special powers of gamers and charity. I do like Games Done Quick.

Less than 30 minutes left! Still got Witcher 3 to go, somewhere. We can do it. For Dolly Parton, people. For Dolly.

Neon Giant's NO LAW up now, which definitely looks like what I maybe wanted Cyberpunk 2077 to be. Lots of action and grime and neon. Coming 2027.

Immediately into some kind of 3v3 game, Project Zeta. Stylized anime, which objectives I couldn't quite suss out. And onto some kind of atmospheric aliens game?

Horror? Demons? Mechs? I can't tell if this is speaking my language. Cinder City, where a body's consciousness has been transferred to... a server of rats, per Geoff? Yeah, hook me up, bro.

Wait no the server of rats... is about whatever this is? My brain is melting, but not as much as the rats server or the fungus guy or whatever other stuff is happening in Ontos.

And now from the creators of Inscryption, some kind of deeply cursed game about an arcade cabinet with its own games. Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, out next year. OK, all right.

Zoopunk! "I'm going to smash this rotten worlds into pieces." You tell them, anthropomorphized rabbit warrior. Rhino and chipmunk fights also doing their thing. What if Stellar Blade but animals against big robots. I'm having some trouble following the action here, but the cat with the sword at the end looks good.

And now a story-based renovation game! Looks a bit like Powerwash Simulator where you're a ghost hunter. There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, which is a "musical horror renovation game." I still like the idea, but don't know how it'll come together.

Roco Kingdom closed beta test in October, which looks extremely like "Do You Like Palworld?" with cuter designs. And the The Defiant, which I blinked and missed but looks like... military combat? You know the kind.

Tarae the Unbound similarly very quick, but is giving some interesting vibes with its Diablo-style combat. Immediately into an FPS where people and things burst into voxels? And you build stuff? Honestly, if there's one aspect of Fortnite that few games try to emulate it's the building so maybe they're onto something here.

Like or Die! OK. All right.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation looks to be up next as Naoki Hamaguchi takes the stage. "It's great to be back at Gamescom!" Calls it the final chapter in their epic journey. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation coming Spring 2027, with trailer up now.

Starting strong with Rufus talking about Meteor and the giant Weapons. All the lads are here: Barrett, Cloud, Cid, Tifa, Vincent, and so on. Ruby Weapon, Emerald Weapon, and Ultima Weapon apparently a big focus in Revelation. Suspiciously, no Aerith gameplay yet...

Submarine combat, airship combat, they've got all the combats here. "We finish this, together."

One last game has to be The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past! And sure enough, there is it. "I see a white wolf, striving forward toward a solitary tower."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered with enhanced basically everything, free upgrade for all Witcher 3 owners, September 29. And next year: Songs of the Past. "Didn't say I was afraid." Hell yeah. That tree looks gnarly, which is exactly what I want out of a Witcher game. No exact date for the DLC, unfortunately, but apparently Geralt has a chain? Good for him.

Geoff confirming that yet, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is a surprise. Miles Tost, level design lead at CD Projekt Red, here talking features. New textures, rendering, so on. Combat is more modern and smooth. New finishers! Completely revamped the ability system.

Songs of the Past's new chain weapon lets the devs "go out with a bang," for Geralt's last adventure before he passes the baton to Ciri. Apparently he previously had the chain, but I'm drawing a blank personally. The new region has its own unique identity with new quests and monsters, but is "an almost uncannily idyllic place" that requires a true witcher to solve.

Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, the previous The Witcher 3 DLCs, are free for people that own the base game as of tonight, per Tost.

That's it! It's over! Geoff closes things out by hyping up The Game Awards on December 10, 2026.

See you all there, huh?
