The title of this article should be "Conform! Conform! Only conformity is acceptable!". Coachella has always been about pushing the boundaries of fashion and being inventive with looks. When I was growing up we were promised a future with fun, colourful, inventive clothes, and yet on the street it's a sea of muddy, boring, cheap polyester churned out of a factory in China or Bangladesh and destined for the scrapheap after a handful of wears.

UK here, never seen magpies swoop - ever. I wonder if the Australian version is different? We had a sort of bouncer magpie in our garden when I was little. He patrolled the back of the garden close to some conifers that had nests of other birds and chased away cats. On sunny days he often sat on our dogs head while he slept in the sun. I wouldn't say they were friends, but together they kept cats away from baby birds.

@Börje Strömming Not always. Obesity is more nuanced than "stop eating, eat less, fatty; and then you'll lose weight". For some people, yes, that may be all that they need to do, but one size does not fit everybody (no pun intended). Having people like you shi‍tting on them isn't exactly going to help obese people lose weight, either.

Right? Most people wouldn't talk to an underweight person like this. There might be an odd comment of "you need to eat some meat" or something (which, no, isn't appropriate to say, either), but you don't get judged for your morals, your worthiness as a person, your intelligence etc when you're underweight. Lots of the time you just get congratulated for losing weight. (I've been on both sides of the spectrum -- over and underweight. Never mind that I'm at my sickest when I'm underweight; I just get told "oh, you're looking so great!")

As a person who became morbidly obese due to medication for mental health disorders the fat shaming hurts. I am at 800kcal per day, workout 7 days per week in a gym with a coach and don't loose a single gram of weight. I will loose weight when I quit my medication. But: mentally stable means job, car, marriage. Unstable means no work, no car and divorce. No meds means regular psychosis. My meds have as first side effect: 80% of the patients gain 50% of weight. Not 1 med, no 4 different ones with the same side effect. I went from 60kg to 145kg in 6 months. I feel horrible, awful, and I am treated so badly by the majority of the population since gaining weight. I wish they'd do something about this side effect, or find new medication without it with the same results in my brain.

Some of these comments are disgusting. No matter how much or how little someone weighs, these are living people. Yes, some people are lazy and don't make effort to lose weight- but many others are heavy due to any combination of genetics, past trauma, mental health conditions, etc and are doing what they can to lose weight or simply be healthy. But for some reason, when someone is heavy, they aren't allowed to exist in public or enjoy life without being subject to horrible comments. Yes, many of the entries on this list were ridiculous. But many of these hateful comments aren't about their entitlement or attitude, it is purely about their weight.

As long as governments continue to allow industry to sell non-toxic substances masquerading as food then this will continue to be an issue. For some the result is cancer or heart disease (and we have sympathy for people living with those conditions) and others the result is overweight or obesity (no sympathy for them, apparently, although they are no more complicit in their health problems than anyone else). If it was simply a case of eating fewer pies then no one would put themselves through the misery and isolation of living like this.

Owner of the cat tree here. It's extremely easy to clean. Latex glove to pull the fur, then a spray cleaner. The cats do not pee on it 😂 I will say it's way time consuming though. Takes about 1-2 hours
