The title of this article should be "Conform! Conform! Only conformity is acceptable!". Coachella has always been about pushing the boundaries of fashion and being inventive with looks. When I was growing up we were promised a future with fun, colourful, inventive clothes, and yet on the street it's a sea of muddy, boring, cheap polyester churned out of a factory in China or Bangladesh and destined for the scrapheap after a handful of wears.

In Europe, the norm is drying your clothes on the clothesline. Some homes have a dryer, but it's too expensive to use it daily. Also, clothes hold their texture and colour better when air drying them over a dryer.
