I painted some new glow in the dark art over the last few weeks, foxes and hares. The red painting “A strange glow in the sky” reminded me so much of Watership Down as I was painting it. These aren’t rabbits though, they’re hares. Hares run like the wind and live above the ground in grassy fields. They don’t make burrows. Back in Canterbury we used to have large brown hares and I think they’re the most beautiful wild animals. I found a little one in the grass, the cutest little baby I have ever seen. The mother hare only spends a few days with her babies then she takes them and individually hides them in different places in the grass where she only comes back at night to feed them.
