Everything's getting pricier — food, healthcare, housing, you name it. The numbers back it up. Prices are climbing, and wallets feel the squeeze.

For the 12 months ending in the latest reported period, overall inflation rose 2.9%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Consumer Price Index (CPI) data. Food climbed 2.8%, housing (shelter) increased 3.4%, healthcare costs rose 3.2%, and used vehicles jumped 4.7%. It's no wonder wallets feel the pinch.
