A £200m regeneration scheme in the North East is under way amid plans to transform brownfield land into a thriving riverside hub.
The scheme at Holborn, South Shields, South Tyneside, will see disused docks and surrounding brownfield land transformed into a bustling riverside quarter with offices, housing and leisure, creating around 1,700 jobs.
Work has now launched on phase one of the residential element of the scheme, in tandem with civil engineering works to prepare the wider nine-hectare site for future development.
