Becoming a master at the various pencil shading techniques will take time and patience. You'll need to learn about a range of pencils and how they differ from each other as well as how to use them all to create the effect you're looking for, whether that's hatching, cross-hatching, stippling or something else.
So how should you do this? My advice is to get some of the best pencils and experiment as much as you can – using the methods I've outlined below. As a pro artist, I use these everyday so I'm perfectly placed to share my advice. And if you want more, you can head to these how to draw tutorials.
